Orthotist – London and Surrounding areas (OCS)

Opcare, part of the AM Healthcare, is the largest supplier of prosthetic and orthotic services to the NHS. As a company we aim to continuously improve the services we deliver and develop those who work for us.

Working at: London and Surrounding areas (OCS)

Opcare’s London and surrounding area (OCS) covers 13 NHS Trusts, including Great Osmond Street, The National Hospital of Neuro and Neurosurgery, UCLH, and Chelsea and Westminster.

OCS runs some of the leading MDT clinics in the UK, providing a dynamic range of extended practices and complex MDTs, offering exposure to interesting and varied caseloads.

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking an experienced Orthotist who is looking to develop their career as part of our large and dynamic team in London and Surrounding areas. We offer full-time or part-time positions in some of London’s prestigious hospitals, currently with a position in West London/Central London.

The role will involve working with a complex clinical caseload, presenting exciting opportunities to develop clinical and leadership skillsets.

Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality care for all patients and the smooth running of the service.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs).
  • Lead on initiatives within the centre service development plan.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to determine their orthotic needs.
  • Develop and implement personalised orthotic treatment plans.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in orthotic technology and practices.
  • Provide excellent patient care, education, and support throughout the treatment process.
  • Assess, measure, cast, fit, supply, review, and adjust orthoses as required.
  • Maintain appropriate clinical notes.

The role will be instrumental in developing and implementing service improvements for the betterment of patients in London and Surrounding areas (OCS).

Qualifications:

Qualifications include:

  • Certified Orthotist
  • HND Orthotics
  • BSc Orthotics

Must also be fully HCPC Registered and preferably a member of BAPO.
