Job summary

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Norwich is seeking a full-time Band 6 Orthoptist to join a team of five orthoptists, thirteen consultant ophthalmologists and four optometrists. The role covers both paediatric and adult strabismus services.

The post involves autonomous practice in assessment, diagnosis and management of ocular motility disorders and amblyopia, with supervision of undergraduate students as required.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in orthoptics and HCPC registration is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive orthoptic assessment, diagnosis and management of ocular motility disorders and amblyopia.
• Develop and monitor treatment plans based on clinical and analytical reasoning and evidence-based practice.
• Participate in supervision of undergraduate orthoptic students as required.
