Job summary

Bath Clinic, part of Circle Health Group, seeks a Theatre Practitioner to join the Theatre department on a bank (as-and-when-required) basis in Bath. You will assist the surgical team, prepare instruments, maintain sterility, monitor patients, and support anesthesia with equipment preparation and postoperative care.

The role requires registration (NMC or HCPC) and theatre experience, with strong infection control, manual handling, and patient safety knowledge.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
• Experience or training in a theatre environment in at least one area (scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery).
• Understanding of infection control, manual handling, and patient safety principles.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to changes in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments and maintain sterility; assist surgeon; monitor patient.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient needs.
• Check surgical and anaesthetic equipment before use; report faults.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team for safe surgical lists.
• Support a positive and efficient theatre environment.
