Theatre Practitioner – Orthopaedic Scrub at Chaucer Hospital in Canterbury seeks a skilled professional to join the theatres team. This full‑time, 37.5‑hour role covers a flexible shift pattern with a salary up to £40,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities include preparing instruments, maintaining sterility, supporting the anaesthetist, and providing safe postoperative care.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in a theatre environment focusing on scrub, anaesthetics or recovery.
• Understanding of infection control, manual handling and patient safety principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility and equipment safety.
• Support the anaesthetist in equipment preparation, patient monitoring, airway management and positioning.
• Provide postoperative care, monitor vitals, manage pain and nausea and discharge readiness.
• Adhere to infection prevention policies and procedures at all times.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient requirements.
• Report faults for surgical and anaesthetic equipment and work within a multidisciplinary team.
