Job summary

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist for the Orthopaedic Therapy Team at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital. The post welcomes Band 5 applicants with a developmental pathway to Band 6, in a supportive MDT environment.

The role focuses on assessing and treating trauma orthopaedic patients, guiding complex discharge planning, and contributing to service development alongside experienced consultants. Flexible working is considered where possible.

Qualifications

• Experience in orthopaedic therapy and trauma rehabilitation.
• Ability to contribute to complex discharge planning.
• Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT).

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat predominantly trauma orthopaedic patients.
• Follow patients from admission to discharge with complex discharge planning.
• Provide supervision and teaching within the MDT and to students.
• Deputise for Band 7 leads in operational team management when required.
