Job summary

The States of Guernsey is seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to deliver high-quality occupational therapy across inpatient, community and home-based settings within Adult Physical Health.

You will manage a defined caseload of adults with physical health needs, work under the guidance of an Advanced Band 7 OT, and rotate across acute, inpatient rehabilitation and community services while contributing to supervision and education of students and junior staff.

Qualifications

• Registered occupational therapist with HCPC registration.
• Experience in adult physical health settings.

Job description

The Band 6 Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing a high-quality

Occupational Therapy Service within Adult Physical Health across inpatient, community and home-based settings. The post holder will manage a defined caseload of adults with a range of physical health needs, including those with complex presentations, using evidence-based and person-centred approaches to assessment, intervention, rehabilitation and discharge planning.

Working under the supervision of an Advanced Band 7 Occupational Therapist, the post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and may rotate across a range of clinical areas, including acute medical, surgical, orthopaedic, inpatient rehabilitation and community services. The role requires autonomous practice, effective clinical reasoning, and collaboration with service users, carers and partner agencies to achieve agreed outcomes and promote independent living.

The post holder will contribute to the delivery, development and evaluation of the

Occupational Therapy Service, support the supervision and education of students and junior staff, and uphold professional, organisational, and regulatory standards inline with HSC policies, procedures and CARE Values.
