Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust in Stoke-on-Trent is recruiting a Clinical Support Worker (Band 2) to provide high standards of patient care pre and post joint replacement within the orthopaedic team.

The role involves supporting early mobilisation, safe discharge planning and communicating with the Registered Nurse. Applicants should have Care Certificate and at least 12 months care experience, with flexibility to cover shifts across seven days.

Qualifications

• Care Certificate required and to be completed within 12 weeks of employment.
• Evidence of good numeracy and literacy.
• 12 months experience in care.
• Ability to cover a variety of shifts over 7 days a week including weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of direct care for patients pre and post joint replacement and other orthopaedic procedures.
• Support early postoperative mobilisation and contribute to safe discharge planning.
• Communicate with the Registered Nurse and patients/visitors in a professional manner.
• Attend training and complete induction programmes (Care Certificate, Corporate and Care Coach Induction).
• Work toward a vocational qualification in care as agreed in your PDR.
