Job summary

Fortius Clinic in the United Kingdom is seeking a Theatre Practitioner to join a busy orthopaedic and spinal theatre team. You will perform both Scrub and Circulating duties and support the perioperative journey with a patient-first approach.

The role requires recent theatre experience in Scrub and/or Circulating roles, with strong perioperative practice knowledge and a focus on infection prevention and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC)
• Recent theatre experience in Scrub and/or Circulating role
• Strong knowledge of perioperative practice and patient safety standards
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic surgical environment
• Commitment to delivering outstanding patient care

Responsibilities

• Support patients throughout their perioperative journey and ensure a safe, efficient theatre service.
• Act as Scrub Practitioner, maintaining sterility and anticipating needs during procedures.
• Undertake Circulating duties and support patient safety at every stage.
• Prepare and manage instruments, implants, and equipment for Orthopaedic and Spinal procedures.
• Champion infection prevention, patient safety, and theatre governance.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, recovery teams, ward staff, and clinical colleagues.
• Contribute to service improvement and patient outcomes.
• Mentor colleagues, students, and new team members.
