Job summary

JustOT is recruiting a locum Band 6 Orthopaedic Occupational Therapist for a busy West Midlands clinical team. The role focuses on assessment, rehabilitation, and safe discharge planning for orthopaedic patients.

You will assess, discharge, order equipment, and deliver group education while maintaining documentation and liaising with the MDT to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• Recognised Occupational Therapy qualification is required.
• Band 6 experience in orthopaedics is preferred.
• Experience writing SOAP notes is expected.
• Ability to work within an MDT and coordinate care.
• Experience completing comprehensive OT assessments and discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive OT assessments for orthopaedic patients.
• Develop effective discharge plans to support safe hospital transitions.
• Assess, order and recommend equipment to promote independence.
• Deliver group education sessions to support rehabilitation.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation (SOAP notes).
• Collaborate with the MDT to coordinate patient care.

Locum Band 6 Orthopaedic Occupational Therapist West Midlands

JustOT is currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Orthopaedic Occupational Therapist to take on a locum opportunity based in the West Midlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced OT with a background in orthopaedics to join a busy clinical team, supporting patients through assessment, rehabilitation and safe discharge planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Completing comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for orthopaedic patients.
• Developing effective discharge plans to support safe transitions from hospital.
• Assessing, ordering and recommending appropriate equipment to promote independence.
• Delivering group education sessions to support patient recovery and rehabilitation.
• Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, including SOAP notes.
• Liaising closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to coordinate patient care.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Band 6 Orthopaedic OT.
• Strong assessment, discharge planning and equipment provision skills.
• Experience writing SOAP notes and working collaboratively within an MDT.
• HCPC registration and a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification.
