Job summary

JustOT is recruiting a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a busy North West London team on a locum basis, focusing on medical and surgical inpatients and delivering patient-centred OT to support recovery and safe discharge. You will assess and treat patients with complex needs, develop rehabilitation plans, coordinate with the multidisciplinary team, and ensure accurate documentation.

NHS experience in acute settings is essential for this post.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Locum Band 6 Medical & Surgical Occupational Therapist (OT) NW London

JustOT is currently recruiting for a Band 6 Medical/Surgical Occupational Therapist to join a busy team in North West London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced OT with a background in acute medical and surgical settings who is looking for their next locum assignment.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of medical and surgical inpatients, delivering high-quality, patient-centred occupational therapy to support recovery and safe discharge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for medical and surgical inpatients.
• Assess patients' functional abilities, mobility, transfers and activities of daily living.
• Develop and implement appropriate rehabilitation and treatment plans.
• Identify equipment and adaptations required to support safe discharge.
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate effective discharge planning.
• Provide advice and support to patients, families and carers.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to ongoing patient care.

Requirements

• HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Previous NHS experience within acute medical and/or surgical settings.
• Strong assessment, rehabilitation and discharge-planning skills.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
