Overview
Under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, the Order Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician is responsible for receiving and filling prescription requests for patients and completing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Initial training will be 2 weeks of working 9a-6p Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Use knowledge and expertise to ensure that pharmaceutical processes and systems are followed appropriately according to policies and procedures, company performance, and accreditation standards
- Communicate effectively with clients, peers, and employees at all levels within the organization. Maintain clear lines of communication throughout issue-resolution processes
- Demonstrate personal performance based on professional practice standards, relevant statutes, rules and regulations and organizational criteria
- Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate
- Maintain proper storage and security conditions for all medications
- Fill prescribed medications and affix labels as necessary
- Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas, including sterilization as required.
- Order, label, and count stock medications, chemicals, and supplies, and enter inventory data
- Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, and report stock needs and/or shortages.
- Willingness to be trained (if necessary) and work in a USP797/800 clean room environment as necessary to meet business needs.
Qualifications
- Must hold and maintain a current, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification issued by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy with a minimum of 1-year experience, PTCB certification and USP 797/800 experience is a plus.
- Willingness to be trained (if necessary) and work in a USP797/800 clean room environment as necessary to meet business needs.
- Must complete at least sufficient hours of CEU to maintain Technician license/certification. Ensure that all pharmaceutical services provided within the facility conform to state licensure, accreditation, regulatory agency requirements, and company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate professionalism by using objectivity, maintaining self-control when under pressure, separating professional from personal issues, displaying emotional maturity, maintaining a high degree of integrity, and promoting a positive work environment by setting an example.
- Notify critical information to the next level of management that may have a negative impact on client and/or vendor relations or patient care.
- Will be assigned to departmental duties in other areas as needed.

- Willingness to work assigned schedule and mandatory overtime in peak times
