Job summary

Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians and nursing staff during oral outpatient, oral surgical and minor dental procedures.
• Prepare treatment and procedure rooms before and between patients, keeping them stocked and ready for use.
• Assist with preparing and safely handling clinical equipment and surgical instruments.
• Prepare patients for procedures, including positioning and reassurance.
• Monitor patients and report concerns or changes to appropriate clinical staff.
• Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control.
• Clean, decontaminate and prepare clinical areas in line with Trust policies.
• Assist with the safe transfer and movement of patients where required.
• Dispose of clinical waste and sharps safely under local procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with NHS policies.
• Complete documentation accurately and promptly.
• Work effectively as part of the wider multidisciplinary team.
