DXC Technology in Belfast seeks an experienced Oracle Database & Infrastructure Engineer to join our team supporting mission-critical Oracle environments for enterprise and government customers.

You will administer Oracle databases, develop SQL/PLSQL, tune performance, and lead backup/recovery activities across on-premises and OCI platforms. This role emphasizes collaboration, security readiness, and delivering reliable, scalable Oracle solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience administering Oracle Database environments.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL development capabilities.
• Experience with Oracle performance tuning and query optimisation.
• Experience with Oracle backup and recovery solutions.
• Knowledge of Oracle High Availability technologies (RAC/Data Guard).
• Experience performing Oracle patching, upgrades and migrations.
• Strong Linux administration experience.
• Experience supporting critical production environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a technical team.

Responsibilities

• Administer, support, optimise and continuously improve Oracle platforms and their supporting infrastructure.
• Manage Oracle Database administration, SQL/PLSQL development, and performance tuning.
• Handle backup, recovery and disaster recovery planning.
• Perform patching, upgrades and migrations; support RAC, ASM and Data Guard.
• Provide Linux server administration and OCI support.
• Contribute to standards, documentation and best practices.
• Engage in incident investigation, root cause analysis and delivery activities.

Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland
On-site, 5 days per week

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database & Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Belfast, supporting mission-critical Oracle environments for enterprise and government customers.

This role is ideal for a skilled Oracle professional with expertise across Oracle Database Administration, SQL and PL/SQL development, performance tuning, high availability, backup and recovery, and the infrastructure supporting Oracle platforms. You will play a key role in maintaining, optimising and evolving complex Oracle environments while contributing to technical best practices and supporting the wider team.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Oracle Database & Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the administration, support, optimisation and continuous improvement of Oracle platforms and their supporting infrastructure, including:

• Oracle Database Administration and support
• SQL and PL/SQL development
• Oracle performance tuning and optimisation
• Backup, recovery and disaster recovery management
• Oracle patching, upgrades and migrations
• Supporting Oracle RAC, ASM and Data Guard environments
• Linux server administration and support
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) administration
• Infrastructure automation and scripting
• Platform monitoring, availability and capacity management
• Incident investigation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Supporting operational and project-based delivery activities
• Contributing to technical standards, documentation and best practices

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience administering Oracle Database environments
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL development skills
• Experience with Oracle performance tuning and query optimisation
• Experience with Oracle backup and recovery solutions
• Knowledge of Oracle High Availability technologies such as RAC and Data Guard
• Experience performing Oracle patching, upgrades and migrations
• Strong Linux administration experience
• Experience supporting critical production environments
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider technical team
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
