Involved Solutions in London is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Engineer to manage large Exadata environments, automate admin tasks with Ansible, and optimise RAC/CRS for high availability.

The role focuses on performance tuning, multi-tenant architecture, and advanced backup/recovery across production systems. It offers a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong Oracle DBA experience across 12c, 18c, 19c and 23ai with installation, configuration and lifecycle management.
• Solid grounding in Exadata Infrastructure, ideally including Autonomous Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC).
• Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC and Clusterware (CRS).
• Knowledge of PDB/CDB multi-tenant architecture.
• Automation and scripting ability including Ansible, Bash/KSH or Python.
• Proven performance tuning at SQL, instance and system level.
• Backup and recovery experience with RMAN, Flashback, Data Pump and migrations.
• Experience administering Oracle ASM and Data Guard for high availability and DR.
• Desirable: Oracle Certified Master (OCM) and Oracle APEX experience.
• Desirable: Java development knowledge and Git or Stash.

Responsibilities

• Build automation tooling and platform solutions using Ansible and scripting to reduce manual work across the database estate.
• Administer and tune Oracle RAC (11gR2–19c) and Clusterware, including builds and optimisation.
• Own performance tuning at SQL, instance and system level across production environments.
• Design and manage backup and recovery using RMAN, Flashback, Data Pump and migration methodologies.
• Administer Oracle ASM and Data Guard to support high availability and disaster recovery.
• Manage multi-tenant architecture including PDB and CDB design and administration.
• Provide L3 support across Oracle Database and Exadata Cloud environments, including root cause analysis and permanent fixes.
• Advise application teams on database performance and product selection.
• Contribute to wider platform resilience and performance initiatives.

We have partnered with a globally established organisation to recruit an experienced Oracle Database Engineer for its database and platform engineering team. This hands-on role spans Oracle administration, automation and performance engineering across large-scale Exadata and cloud environments, including Autonomous Exadata Cloud@Customer. It offers the opportunity to move beyond routine administration into platform engineering, automation, large-scale tuning and ownership of multi-tenant database architecture across mission-critical systems. The position is permanent, full time at 40 hours per week, based in Central London with three days onsite each week. Salary is up to £90,000, plus bonus and benefits.
