Job description

Job Description

Do you enjoy building strong relationships and solving tricky system issues for schools and academies? Then step into a key Schools Business Partner role, where you’ll be the trusted Oracle payroll and access expert helping education settings, IFCA and Payroll teams keep staff paid accurately and systems running smoothly.

As an Oracle Business Partner – Schools, you’ll be the functional link between schools, academies, IFCA and the central Oracle and Payroll services. You’ll work closely with school leaders, business managers and Payroll teams to resolve complex access and pay queries, diagnose and manage incidents, and help embed sustainable improvements. This role is ideal if you like combining Oracle expertise with stakeholder engagement, making a direct impact on the experience of education users and the reliability of critical payroll services.

We Are Looking For Candidates Who

  • Have RQF Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths, or can show you’re working at that level at assessment.

  • Are comfortable with data – you take pride in accurate input, checking details, and keeping things tidy.

  • Communicate clearly with different people, tailoring how you explain things so everyone “gets it”.

  • Can juggle a mixed workload, handle the odd tight deadline, and stay calm when it’s busy.

  • Care about good customer service and are confident using Microsoft 365 tools and modern devices as part of your day-to-day work.

As an Oracle Business Partner for Schools you will be in a first line support role, combining excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a clear focus on relationships and outcomes. You will be able to build trust with stakeholders, understand their needs, and translate technical issues into practical solutions. A solid grounding in IT systems, troubleshooting approaches and customer service principles is important, alongside the ability to work under pressure, follow agreed processes and elevate complex issues appropriately. Strong attention to detail, patient, and a proactive approach to learning new technologies and ways of working will help them add real value. Prior experience in customer or stakeholder support, or technical assistance, is beneficial but not essential.

We offer a diverse range of benefits to help and support you during your employment.

If you thrive on building relationships and shaping solutions – especially when things are busy and complex – this is the place for you. The business partner role is a great platform to deepen your knowledge and confidence, working closely with stakeholders and specialist teams. We see you as part of our succession plan: growing into broader partner and leadership roles as the function evolves, and setting a high benchmark for those who follow in your footsteps.
