Job summary

Optegra Eye Health Care in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced optometrist to join our team on a part-time basis. The role involves pre- and post-operative consultations and examinations relevant to cataract surgery, with 19 hours per week across two days at the Hounslow clinic.

Qualifications

• Current GOC registration as a fully qualified optometrist.
• Extensive experience working as an optometrist in refractive, high street or hospital settings.
• Experience using patient administration systems and electronic medical record systems.
• Experience working to conversion targets and KPIs within Vision Correction.

Responsibilities

• Carry out examinations associated with cataract surgery.
• Run acute and follow-up clinics post-surgery and document findings in EMR.
• Provide health advice and support to patients attending the hospital.
• Offer first-line clinical advice and refer to a medical professional when needed.
• Ensure awareness of equipment safety within the clinical competency framework.
• Attend mandatory update courses and stay aligned with CQC policies.

Optegra has an exciting new job opportunity for an experienced optometrist to join our amazing and dedicated team. The Role

As an integral part of a multi disciplinary team working alongside consultants, you will be required to carry out pre and post-operative consultations, assessing the suitability of patients for treatment. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Carry out examinations that are associated with cataract surgery.
• Run acute and follow up clinics postsurgery for patients documenting findings in the electronic medical record systems.
• Provide health advice and support to patients attending the hospital.
• Provide first line clinical advice to patients and follow the appropriate means of referral to a medical practitioner if necessary.
• Ensure awareness of the uses, safety precautions and handling of equipment within the clinical competency framework.
• Ensure awareness of CQC policies and updates, attending all mandatory update courses

Requirements

• Current GOC registration as a fully qualified optometrist
• Extensive experience working as an optometrist in a refractive, high street or hospital environment
• Experience of using patient administration systems and electronic medical record systems
• Experience of working to conversion targets and other KPIs within Vision Correction
