Job summary

Boots Opticians is seeking a qualified Optometrist to join our UK team. You will lead clinics, perform advanced eye tests, and provide expert patient care with a focus on clinical excellence.

You will work with experienced colleagues, support enhanced services, and contribute to the store's leadership and community engagement, while keeping up-to-date with professional standards and NHS guidelines.

What you'll be doing

As an Optometrist at Boots, you'll play a key role in delivering brilliant patient care - using the latest tech, working alongside experienced colleagues, and supporting your community with clinical excellence. Whether you're leading a clinic, responding to triage, or mentoring others, no two days are the same, and your growth never stops.

Key responsibilities

• Leading clinics and delivering outstanding patient care


• Using the latest testing technology to assess eye health and provide expert advice


• Providing enhanced services, from triage support to advanced assessments, depending on store needs


• Offering clinical support to colleagues on the shop floor


• Collaborating with external healthcare professionals


• Keeping your clinical knowledge up to date and sharing it with others


• Playing a key role in your store's leadership team, bringing energy and insight to every shift

What you'll need to have (our must-haves)

• We're looking for Optometrists who are confident, compassionate, and always focused on doing the right thing for patients.


• GOC registered (or expecting to be within 6 months)


• NHS performer number (or working towards it)


• Excellent communication and organisation skills


• A genuine interest in patient care and team collaboration

It would be great if you also have

• Experience supporting enhanced services


• A strong understanding of local clinical networks
