Job summary

IC Resources Recruitment in Oxford is seeking an Optical Technician to join a fast-growing photonics and space technology team. The role covers assembly, integration, and testing of laser communication systems for optical ground stations.

You will work independently within a multidisciplinary group, perform precise optical alignment, support verification, and contribute to the deployment and field maintenance of complex optical systems; willingness to travel internationally is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in optical assembly, integration, and testing environments.
• Hands-on experience building and testing complex optical systems.
• Strong optical laboratory skills and troubleshooting.
• Ability to travel internationally for deployments.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, integrate, and test complex optical and optomechanical subsystems.
• Support system-level integration and verification of optical ground station products.
• Perform precision optical alignment and troubleshoot optical assemblies.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance test equipment and ground support equipment.
• Manage component procurement, supplier coordination, and incoming inspection.
• Maintain inventory and ensure availability of materials and components.
• Produce and maintain manufacturing documentation and controlled build procedures.
• Assist with customer deployments, installation activities, and field maintenance as needed.
