Active Force Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for an experienced Optical Manager at a well-established optical practice in Wells, Somerset. You will lead the daily operations, support your team, and ensure patients receive a high standard of care.

The role requires strong optics knowledge, leadership skills, and a customer-focused approach. You will oversee dispensing, lab work, stock, and record-keeping while maintaining health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in an optical practice.
• Experience in managing or supervising a team.
• Knowledge of optical products, dispensing and laboratory procedures.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A strong focus on customer care.
• Good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the optical practice.
• Lead, support and develop the optical team.
• Ensure excellent customer service is delivered at all times.
• Assist customers with choosing frames and lenses.
• Oversee fitting, adjustment and repair of eyewear.
• Manage stock levels and order optical supplies when required.
• Maintain accurate patient records and appointment schedules.
• Carry out or oversee basic laboratory procedures, including lens edging and fitting.
• Ensure the practice complies with health and safety standards.
