Job summary

Oxford Instruments Andor is seeking a Physicist to join the Technology Department's Product Engineering Team in Belfast. The role provides optical expertise across Spectrographs, Microscopy Systems, Instruments and Cameras, supporting product management, quality engineering and production teams.

The successful candidate will lead product enhancement projects, perform robust root cause analysis and contribute to testing strategies for optical instruments.

Qualifications

• 2.1 (or higher) BSc or MSci in Physical Science or related discipline and 3 years relevant experience.
• National Diploma (or equivalent) in Physical Science or related discipline and 5 years relevant experience.
• Relevant experience can be gained through PhD studies.

Responsibilities

• Provide optical expertise across Andor’s product portfolio to support product teams.
• Lead and deliver product enhancement projects including imaging sensors and optical instruments; perform root cause analysis and testing strategy.
