Job Title: Optical Manager
Location: Sefton
Employment Type: Full time
Contract: Permanent
Shift Pattern: Work Shift: Days (45 hours per week – Monday to Saturday, 09:00 - 18:00)
Salary: Competitive salary plus benefits

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the entire optical operation, ensuring high quality patient service.
• Lead a team of optometrists and optical assistants, coaching and developing staff to achieve performance standards.
• Maintain and enforce compliance processes and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
• Review sales forecasting and set department targets, ensuring targets are met while providing excellent customer care.
• Manage clinic operations and shop floor processes to keep the department well‑equipped for customer needs.
• Respond to customer queries and resolve service issues in a fast‑paced environment.
• Work closely with an optometrist to support clinical activities and support department goals.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified dispensing optician registered with the GOC.
• On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD.
• Proven leadership skills with experience in a fast‑paced optics environment.
• Confident in coaching others and providing excellent customer and patient care.
• Organised and able to manage time effectively.
