Job summary

Purely Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Optical Lab Technician to join our client in Glasgow. You will manufacture and glaze lenses to prescriptions, edge and assemble frames, and ensure finished products meet quality and turnaround targets.

The ideal candidate will have Maths and English to National Level 4/5 or equivalent, strong manual dexterity, and the ability to work accurately under pressure with good time management and safety awareness.

Monday - Friday - 08.00am - 4.30pm

We are currently recruiting for a Optical Lab Technician to join our client based in their Glasgow store.

Job Summary

Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Optical Lab Technician to join their laboratory team. This role plays a key part in delivering high quality optical products by accurately manufacturing and glazing lenses in line with prescriptions, quality standards, and turnaround times.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and process optical prescriptions accurately
• Edge, glaze, and assemble lenses into frames
• Carry out quality checks to ensure lenses meet prescription and company standards
• Operate and maintain optical lab machinery safely
• Identify and resolve production issues efficiently
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe laboratory environment
• Consistently meet turnaround time targets to support timely delivery of glasses

Skills and Experience

• Maths and English to National Level 4 or 5 or equivalent
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy over sustained periods
• Ability to follow instructions and prioritise workload effectively

Desirable

• Previous experience working within an optical laboratory or similar production environment
