Job summary

Renishaw PLC in Wotton under Edge is seeking a Product Lifecycle Engineer to lead obsolescence activities across optical encoder technology. The role focuses on developing and executing strategies to phase out products smoothly within Renishaw’s optical product range.

You will work with marketing, engineering, and customers to migrate to suitable alternatives, analyse sales data, and manage end-of-life forecasts. A strong collaborative, cross-functional approach is essential.

Qualifications

• HND or equivalent qualification in an engineering / STEM discipline.
• Knowledge and experience of coordinating product obsolescence programmes.
• Ability to make educated assumptions and forecasting decisions.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Understand MRP/ERP manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Marketing, engineering, subsidiaries, and customers to define requirements and migrate to suitable replacements.
• Develop materials and define upgrade paths for obsolescence programmes.
• Analyse sales data to inform decisions on obsolete components.
• Create presentations to communicate lifecycle strategy to subsidiaries and stakeholders.
• Manage specific obsolescence programmes.
• Coordinate with forecasting to develop end-of-life forecasts.
• Build relationships with subsidiaries to gather information and support obsolescence.
