Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL in Oxfordshire seeks an Optical Designer to lead hands-on design and development of optoelectronic products. You will also support production and generate design records within the quality system, ensuring time, quality and cost targets are met.

With 60% design work and 40% production involvement, you will collaborate with engineers, customers and the supply chain, and help improve engineering processes. A competitive salary with future development opportunities is offered.

Qualifications

Job description

We are now looking for an Optical Designer to join a leader in the development of optoelectronic devices at their growing facility in Oxfordshire.

A large amount of your time will see you designing and developing products in line with company procedures.

In addition to your design work, you will support production and be responsible for the production of engineering paper work to build up design records within the company’s quality system.

Working closely with other engineers, customers and supply chain, you will ensure production meets customer requirements in terms of time, quality and cost.

Drawing on your previous experience in production, you will support the improvement of engineering processes.

Experience:

With a strong background in hands on optical design, using Zemax, you should have an understanding of production.

Whilst around 60% of your time will involve design work, you will also be involved in production, and therefore must have a proven track record in production.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Optics, alongside significant hands on experience in Optical Design is essential.
