Job summary

Advanced Technical Recruitment is seeking an Optical Designer to join a leader in optoelectronic devices at their Oxfordshire facility. You will design and develop products in line with company procedures and work closely with engineers, production and customers.

You will produce engineering paperwork for the quality system, ensure production meets time/quality/cost targets, and contribute to engineering process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering/physics/optics degree with hands-on optical design experience.
• Proven ability to work with production teams and translate design into manufacturable processes.
• Experience using Zemax for optical design and tolerancing.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop optoelectronic devices in line with company procedures.

Job description

We are now looking for an Optical Designer to join a leader in the development of optoelectronic devices at their growing facility in Oxfordshire.

A large amount of your time will see you designing and developing products in line with company procedures.

In addition to your design work, you will support production and be responsible for the production of engineering paper work to build up design records within the company’s quality system.

Working closely with other engineers, customers and supply chain, you will ensure production meets customer requirements in terms of time, quality and cost.

Drawing on your previous experience in production, you will support the improvement of engineering processes.

Experience

With a strong background in hands on optical design, using Zemax, you should have an understanding of production.

Whilst around 60% of your time will involve design work, you will also be involved in production, and therefore must have a proven track record in production.

Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Optics, alongside significant hands on experience in Optical Design is essential.

Salary / benefits: Depend on Experience, c£60k plus benefits.
