Specsavers Westwood Cross in Margate is offering an Optical Assistant Apprenticeship. You’ll join a busy, modern store providing NHS and private eye care, hearing tests, and a wide range of frames and accessories.

The apprenticeship runs 15-18 months with on-the-job training and structured learning, offering a full-time wage and industry training. Travel to the store daily is expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent.
• Must have right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to travel to the store location daily.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in store and provide friendly service.
• Assist with booking eye tests and pre-screening patients.
• Provide style advice and measurements for frames.
• Support the team with daily store operations.

Located within the popular Westwood Cross Shopping Centre, Specsavers Westwood Cross is a busy, modern store committed to delivering outstanding eye and hearing care. The store offers a comprehensive range of services, including NHS and private eye examinations, contact lens fittings and aftercare, children's eye care, enhanced eye health services, hearing tests, hearing aids and ongoing audiology support. With an extensive selection of frames, lenses and hearing solutions, our friendly and experienced team is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and clinical care to every patient.

Your on-the-job training will sit alongside structured learning and at the end of the 15-18 months as an apprentice, you’ll be a fully-fledged Optical Assistant.

Who is this Apprenticeship for?

If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as an Optical Assistant Apprentice.

• You’ll need a grade 9-4 (A*-C) GCSEs in Maths (or equivalent/predicted result)
• Individuals who have lived in the EU for 3 years or more, with the right to work in the UK
