Job summary

Barts Health NHS Trust in London invites applications for a full-time Ophthalmology post at Whipps Cross University Hospital. This fixed-term 12-month role sits within a busy ophthalmic unit and requires MRCOphth and full GMC registration to practice.

The successful candidate will join an established multidisciplinary team, participate in teaching, audits and governance, and contribute to high-quality patient care during a major redevelopment project.

Qualifications

• MRCOphth or equivalent.
• Full GMC Registration with license to practice.
• Specialist Training: Good knowledge anterior segment, acute and general ophthalmology.
• Teaching Skills: Record of teaching at under and post graduate levels. Evidence of multi-disciplinary teaching.
• Clinical Governance: Record of completed audit projects. An understanding of clinical governance and the application to ophthalmology.
• IT Skills: Competent in Electronic patient records systems. Competent in IT software.
• Research experience
• Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Course/training in communication skills
• Ability to speak another language/s
• Participate in on call rota
