Job summary

The Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust seeks a 12-month fixed-term Consultant Ophthalmologist specializing in Oculoplastics, Lacrimal and Orbits. The post is based cross-site at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup, with potential to support other King's sites.

You will contribute to teaching and training of junior staff while managing outpatient and surgical care for ophthalmology patients. We are seeking a leader in oculoplastics with a track record in governance, education and research,

Qualifications

• Registerable medical qualification.
• FRCOphth / MRCOphth or equivalent.
• CCT in Ophthalmology (or be within 6 months of CCT date).

Responsibilities

• Provide Ophthalmology services across all sites.
• Share 24/7 rota cover for the Unit with other consultants.
• Supervise junior staff and contribute to CPD and governance.
• Involve in outpatient and surgical services for Oculoplastics, lacrimal and orbital patients.
• Contribute to audit, research and the departmental business plan.
