Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a Specialist Doctor in Ophthalmology to join our teams. The post is fixed-term for up to 12 months to cover a secondment, offering opportunities for leadership, teaching, and service development in ophthalmology.

The successful candidate will provide clinical expertise, lead outpatient and inpatient teams, and liaise with GPs and other services. Welsh Desirable language skills are considered an advantage.

Formación

• Full GMC Registration with a license to practice.
• Eligibility to work and live in the UK.

Responsabilidades

• Provide clinical expertise and leadership to a defined outpatient and inpatient teams where appropriate
• Provide specialist assessment and clinical management of patients with Ophthalmology problems
• Provide medical liaison and advice regarding patients to local Specialist Doctors and GPs as necessary.
• Provide supervision for the speciality doctor and core trainee, and to a Specialty Training Registrar if the post holder is approved as an Educational Super-visor and if an ST is allocated to the team.
• Liaise effectively with members of the team, other services within the Health Board, general practitioners and other agencies.
• Contribute to the management of the service by attendance at appropriate committees and meetings, by involvement in audit and by taking on specific management roles which may, from time to time, be agreed.
• Play an active role in the education and training of medical, nursing and other staff.
