West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Band 8a Matron for Ophthalmology to lead our Ophthalmology services within the Surgery, Anaesthetics & Cancer Division. The post requires senior nursing leadership to drive safe, high-quality patient care across cross-site services and to develop innovative models of care.
You will provide visible clinical leadership, support workforce development and contribute to budget planning, with a focus on patient safety, governance and service
Qualifications
- Senior nursing leadership with ophthalmology experience.
- Drive governance, patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
- Lead workforce development and budgeting planning.
Responsabilités
- Leading and developing ophthalmology nursing services.
- Maintaining a visible clinical presence and supporting frontline care delivery.
- Driving quality improvement, governance, patient safety and patient experience initiatives.
- Managing and developing senior nursing staff through appraisal, coaching and workforce planning.
- Leading responses to patient feedback, incidents and complaints to improve services.
- Supporting education, training and professional development across the workforce.
- Developing future workforce models, including Advanced Nurse Practitioner roles.
- Managing resources effectively and contributing to budget planning and financial performance.
- Collaborating with consultants, multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to deliver patient pathways.
