Job summary

The University of Manchester is seeking a Clinical Senior Lecturer, Block Lead for Ophthalmology, MBChB Programme. The role involves designing and delivering the Ophthalmology curriculum within a dynamic, inclusive environment, working with Year 4 teams to ensure high-quality teaching.

Qualifications

• Practising physician/surgeon with specialist register and current Ophthalmology Clinical Placement Supervisor for Manchester MBChB
• Evidence of leadership in undergraduate or postgraduate medical education
• Understand, or work towards understanding of medical education theory (through CPD)
• Able to effect organisational change through engagement at a local level with good interpersonal skills
• Good organisational skills to support high-quality teaching and supervisors

Responsibilities

• Deliver MBChB ophthalmology content and learning materials
• Collaborate with Year 4 Lead to ensure programme delivery
• Support equity of learning for Year 4 ophthalmology students
• Provide teaching resources and liaise with clinical placement supervisors
• Align assessment materials with taught content in Year 4
