Spire Leicester Hospital is inviting experienced Theatre Practitioners to join our Bank team supporting ophthalmic theatre services in Leicester. The role suits Scrub Nurses or ODPs seeking flexible shifts while maintaining exposure to high-quality ophthalmic procedures.

You’ll scrub for cataracts and minor eye surgery, prepare theatres, and work with surgeons and the broader theatre team to ensure safe, efficient patient care and infection control.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with relevant theatre experience.
• Experience in ophthalmic or day-case procedures is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and adapt within different teams.

Responsibilities

• Scrubbing for ophthalmic procedures (e.g. cataracts and minor eye surgery).
• Preparing theatres and ensuring equipment is ready for each list.
• Collaborating with surgeons and the wider theatre team.
• Maintaining infection prevention standards and patient care.
• Supporting smooth patient flow across theatre lists.
