Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician/Healthcare Assistant to join the Lancashire Eye Centre in Chorley. You will contribute to excellent patient care, perform ophthalmic tests and support patients throughout their journey in the clinic and ward.

The role emphasizes first-class customer service, effective communication, and teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment across Chorley and Preston facilities.

Qualifications

• Pro-active approach to customer service and patient experience.
• Ability to communicate politely and professionally with patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Undertake ophthalmic imaging and diagnostics, including visual fields, visual acuity, and OCT.
• Provide support to patients in clinic, including elderly or visually impaired patients.
• Record physical measurements (visual acuity, height, weight, vital signs).
• Work efficiently to ensure clinic/ward runs smoothly.
• Be prepared to rotate across shifts (7am–7pm) including some weekends.
• Part-time applications are welcome.
