Job summary

Optical Express is seeking an experienced Senior Surgery Manager to lead our ophthalmic surgical services with a focus on Laser Vision Correction and Cataract Surgery. You will ensure world-class standards, regulatory compliance, and excellent patient outcomes across hospitals in Midlands, London, Anglia and the South West.

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership in surgical services.
• Strong understanding of CQC regulations and governance.
• Experience in ophthalmic surgery (LVC and cataract).
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary clinical and non-clinical teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across ophthalmic surgical services.
• Act as CQC Registered Manager, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver outstanding patient care.
• Oversee cataract and laser vision correction services with high safety standards.
• Manage clinical governance, risk, audits and quality improvement.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare legislation and policies.
• Drive service performance against KPIs, patient satisfaction, and finances.
• Oversee workforce planning, recruitment and staff development.
