Job summary

Optical Express is hiring a Surgery Associate (Healthcare Assistant) in Manchester Bridgewater. You will support two surgical specialties, LVC and IOL, performing pre-operative tests, aiding during consent and assisting the surgeon.

With 40 hours per week, you will travel to other clinics as needed; travel costs are covered. The role focuses on patient care, accurate record-keeping and a strong safety culture within a leading private eye care provider.

Responsibilities

• Following training, undertake roles within surgery team across LVC and IOL theatres.
• Pre-operative testing and assisting during consent appointments.
• Discharging patients and updating medical records.
• Calibrating lasers and ensuring safe laser operation.
• Co-ordinating patient flow and supporting the surgeon during procedures.
• Stock management and end-of-day reporting.
