Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust seeks an experienced eye care professional to lead the Rapid Access Eye Clinic, delivering urgent ophthalmic care to around 17,000 patients annually.

The role combines clinical management with hands-on diagnosis, treatment, and discharge within agreed protocols, working closely with ophthalmic nurses, optometrists, and clinicians. You will provide visible clinical and operational leadership, supervise a nurse-led team, and drive governance, quality

Qualifications

• Lead and support a nurse-led ophthalmic team within urgent care.
• Autonomous clinical decision-making for urgent eye conditions.
• Independent prescriber status enabling timely treatment.

Responsabilités

• Undertake autonomous assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge of acute ophthalmic cases.
• Provide expert clinical decision‑making and manage patient pathways.
• Deliver face‑to‑face and telephone triage with timely care.
• Order and interpret ophthalmic investigations within scope.
• Lead the team, mentor staff, and support workforce planning.
• Promote governance, audits, and evidence‑based practice.
