The Isle of Wight NHS Trust is seeking a Band 5 Ophthalmic Nurse to join the Ophthalmology service at St Mary's Hospital, Newport. This 9-month fixed-term maternity cover is full-time (37.5 hours per week) across outpatient clinics, Eye Care Centre and day surgery, addressing cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and other urgent eye presentations.

Formación

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Post-registration development in ophthalmology or willingness to develop.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilidades

• Provide high quality, safe and compassionate care to patients in ophthalmology clinics and day surgery.
• Undertake ophthalmic assessments and investigations including visual acuity and OCT testing.
• Support patients from admission through discharge within a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in the on-call rota and mentor students or junior staff.
• Commit to patient-centred care and ongoing professional development.
