Job summary

Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Medical Statistics and Data Scientist to provide statistical and data science expertise for a diverse ophthalmic research portfolio within the Moorfields Reading Centre and Clinical Research Facility.

You will work with clinicians, researchers and external collaborators to design analyses, manage datasets, and develop predictive models, contributing to publications, grant applications and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Post graduate qualification in a subject related to statistics or data science (Masters level or equivalent).
• PhD in a related subject is desirable.
• Proficiency with R statistics and Stata; experience with other statistics packages as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design statistical analyses and data science approaches for ophthalmic research studies.
• Manage research datasets and ensure data governance and quality.
• Develop predictive models and contribute to high-quality publications and grant reports.
• Support advanced imaging analysis, artificial intelligence and data-driven research methods.
• Collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and external partners to address research questions.
• Present results and contribute to regulatory reporting where required.
