Job summary

Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a role manufacturing ocular prosthetics for both pediatric and adult patients at our site in London. The post requires developing skills to design, fabricate, and clinically fit custom artificial eyes and facial prosthetics.

You will contribute to rehabilitation of patients post-surgery, with emphasis on precision, artistry, and adherence to medical device standards. Training and ongoing development are provided.

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE level (including English and Maths to GCSE A-C) or equivalent qualification.
• Degree or equivalent in Dental Technology or other relevant subject. Master degree in Dental Technology

Responsibilities

• Manufacture ocular prosthetics for both child and adult patients under supervision.
• Develop skills to clinically design, prescribe, fabricate and fit custom made artificial eyes and facial prostheses.
• Assist in rehabilitation of patients who have undergone radical surgery by means of highly specialised skill.
• Maintain quality control and record keeping in line with ISO13485:2016 and medical device legislation.
