Job summary

Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced ophthalmic nurse with leadership to advance care in the Accident and Emergency Department at City Road.

The post holder will perform specialist ophthalmic nursing assessments, develop care plans, and participate in independent management of patients as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner. Training, audits, and teaching form key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification and registered nurse (adult) registration.
• Ophthalmic qualification and relevant clinical post-registration experience.
• Proven ability to lead, teach, and mentor staff in acute ophthalmic settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the ophthalmic A&E department to ensure high standards of patient care.
• Provide independent management of designated patients as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner.
• Lead on evidence-based practice, audits, and teaching to staff.
