Job summary

SpaMedica is seeking an Optical Assistant for our Bolton Hospital cluster, with a 37.5-hour weekly schedule across 4 days in a 6-day rota. The role involves assisting optometrists, handling diagnostics, and supporting pre- and post-operative clinics at the 43 Churchgate location and across multiple Bolton sites.

Qualifications

• Adheres to clinical governance principles.
• Experience in performing diagnostic examinations with clinicians.
• Assists in stock control and post-operative clinics.

Responsibilities

• Assist optometrists in daily clinics and diagnostics.
• Support pre- and post-operative patient care.
• Act as a theatre runner in busy environments.
• Proficient with the Medisoft database and equipment checks.
• Ensure equipment storage and reporting of incidents as required.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and GPDR compliance.
