National Grid Electricity Distribution is seeking an Operator (Stores) to join the Worcester depot team. The role involves maintaining stock, testing equipment, and supporting field operations across Banbury and Evesham, with a focus on safety and reliability in a physical work environment.
You will need a valid driving licence, GCSEs in English and Maths, and ideally forklift training. Training will be provided where needed, and the role requires locality to the depots.

An opportunity is available for an Operator (Stores) to join the team based at Worcester depot.
This role is for a yard operative that will be split between Banbury and Evesham yard so ideal candidate should live locally to either locations.
As an Operator you will inspect, maintain and repair ancillary items such as spiking guns, ladders, portable gas equipment, test equipment and test bushings etc. You will also complete bench testing of CT metering equipment and PAT testing of electrical appliances around the depot.
As part of your role, you will also assist other operatives in maintaining the stock inventory within the local stores at Worcester, take in deliveries and issue items to customers.
The role is based at Worcester depot as part of a team, however at times you may need to assist field-based teams out on site. The environment requires you to be able to react quickly, decisively, and responsibly.
You will help manage depot facilities and coordinate maintenance and repair works with our supplier to ensure the smooth operation of the depot.
This role is suitable for someone who enjoys the demands of a physical environment.
You must be able to demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative, in a safety critical environment.
External candidates are required to have grade A*-G/1-9 GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent qualification deemed to be at the same level in these subjects.
You'll need to be mobile throughout the area, therefore a valid driving license is required.
Ideally you will have completed accredited Fork Lift truck training and hold a certificate of completion for this. In addition, some electrical experience would be an advantage.
Operationally we require you to live within approximately 40 minutes of the depot you are applying for.
Training will be given where necessary, to support the successful candidate in gaining the skills and experience to carry out the role in full.
