Job summary

National Grid is seeking an Operator based at Ty Coch Plant Centre in the UK. You will predominantly assemble package substations and related equipment in a depot setting, requiring careful attention to quality and safety.

A practical, self-motivated approach is essential, with experience in an electrical environment considered advantageous. GCSE English & Maths or equivalent qualifications are required, and evidence will be requested prior to appointment.

Qualifications

• GCSE English & Maths (1-9/G-A*) or Functional Skills or equivalent qualification.
• Evidence of your qualifications required prior to appointment.
• Full driving licence is essential; HVG (HGV) would be highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assemble package substations and associated equipment to required quality standards.
• Refurbish, decommission and safely scrap plant and equipment as required.
• Load, unload and move equipment around the depot and site safely.
• Assist with the preparation, marshalling and dispatch of completed assemblies.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
• Ensure all work is completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with company procedures.

An opportunity is available for an Operator based at Ty Coch Plant Centre.
As an Operator, you will be involved primarily in the assembly of package substations and associated equipment. This position would suit a practical and motivated individual, ideally with experience in an electrical environment

This is a depot-based position requiring a methodical and self-motivated individual who can work independently. Given the nature of the role, a strong focus on quality, reliability and attention to detail is essential.

Ideal Candidate

• Experience in a similar environment and an understanding of electrical equipment or an electrical background would be beneficial.
• The ability to work independently and maintain high standards and safety standards
• A full driving licence is essential and HVG would be highly beneficial
• Experience operating a forklift truck would be advantageous
