Job description

Inventory Operator

Working in HP2 maintaining stock integrity during peak periods.

Primary purpose of the role

To manage the inventory control system, maintain product data, rectify miscalculations, review and analyze operational results, report findings to management, and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.

Key accountability areas
  1. Investigate problems and analyze root causes; develop performance reports and workable solutions.
  2. Ensure all Goods In queries are resolved and items are moved to the correct location within 24 hours of receipt.
  3. Monitor and report all stock adjustments with reason codes.
  4. Create data and information to facilitate decisions on moving slow-moving or old stock lines to high-level bulk locations.
  5. Regularly review warehouse layout, at least monthly, to ensure wholesale, retail, and e-commerce stock are in correct areas.
  6. Assist in planning for seasonal peaks and troughs using forecasts to ensure fast-moving products are readily accessible and slow/non-moving stock is removed.
  7. Monitor and report all items on hold (QC/damage/lost) as required.
  8. Support full physical inventory counts or cycle counts as needed.
  9. Assist in reviewing and consolidating stock as required.
General responsibilities
  • Comply with all relevant company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information.
  • Act professionally, foster good relationships, and promote a positive company image.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards, including OHSAS18001 and ISO 9001:2008 procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and security in work areas.
  • Challenge and address unauthorized presence on site when appropriate.
  • Attend training to meet company development standards, including Investors in People.
