Job summary

Morson Edge in the United Kingdom is seeking an Operative (Electro-Mechanical Assembly) to build high-quality assemblies on the shop floor, using IPC-A-610 standards and automated test equipment. Qualifications

  • Experience in electrical and mechanical assembly.

  • Background in a similar manufacturing or production role (2-3 years).
  • Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Build electrical and mechanical assemblies in accordance with IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Carry out soldering activities to required quality standards.
  • Assemble wiring looms and components, including wiring to engineering drawings.
  • Operate automated test equipment on sub-assemblies and completed assemblies.
  • Perform self-inspection to ensure products meet quality requirements.
  • Record and report any defects, discrepancies, or non-conformances.
  • Pack finished products in line with company and customer requirements.
  • Adhere to all work instructions, quality standards, and production timescales.
  • Achieve agreed output and quality targets.
  • Maintain strong ESD and FOD awareness at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised shop-floor working environment.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet deadlines, demonstrating flexibility where required.
  • Report issues, concerns, or deviations promptly to the Team Leader or Line Manager.
  • Train colleagues when requested, in line with agreed company standards and processes.
  • Maintain positive and professional working relationships across the production team.

Working Pattern

Preferred working hours: 06:00 - 15:00 (Monday to Thursday)

Working Friday (alternate weeks): 06:00 - 12:00

Every other Friday off

Flexible start times available, subject to business needs

Job Description Summary
