Job summary

Eurovia is seeking a Safety-conscious plant operator for the Green Aggregates unit in Grays. You will operate and maintain the processing plant to production schedules, ensure quality, and support continuous improvement while adhering to health and environmental standards.

The role includes day and night shifts with weekend coverage as required, full training provided, and a permanent contract. A strong mechanical aptitude and experience with plant control systems are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in recycling, quarrying, asphalt production or heavy plant operations.
• Familiarity with plant control systems.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Mobile or fixed plant qualifications (Loading Shovel, Telehandler, or similar).
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Operate the control system in accordance with production schedules to meet Green Aggregates quality standards.
• Monitor, control, and adjust plant settings to ensure consistent production and compliance with specifications.
• Carry out daily plant inspections and ensure equipment is maintained to safe operating standards.
• Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic repairs per planned maintenance schedules.
• Load and manage incoming raw materials.
• Maintain accurate production and stock records with traceability.
• Liaise with Quality Control to meet technical and customer requirements.
• Promote and adhere to health, safety and environmental standards, reporting incidents or near misses.
• Support continuous improvement of site operations and contribute to a team environment.
• Undertake other site duties, including mobile plant operation with full training provided.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be expected to operate and maintain the processing plant in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. They will ensure that all repurposed products are produced to the highest quality standards while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence at the plant.

This role would suit an individual who is a safety-conscious team player looking for a rewarding career in production.

Shifts would be split between day and nights covering weekend works when required.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include

• Undertake other site duties as required, including mobile plant operation if appropriately trained, full training given.

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience in recycling, quarrying, asphalt production or a similar heavy plant operation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with plant control systems.
• Awareness and understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Mobile or fixed plant qualifications (Loading Shovel, Telehandler, or similar).
• Basic mechanical or electrical maintenance skills.
• Full training is provided.
