Job summary

Kier Group is seeking an Operative to join our South West Water team based in Bournemouth. You will support schemes including mains repairs, new connections and metering, while upholding health and safety standards in a collaborative environment.

This role requires a Full driving licence and CSCS/EUSR/NRSWA certification (training available). Expect 45 hours per week across Monday to Sunday with on-call duties in the rota.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in highways or utilities.
• Hold a Full driving licence.
• CSCS/EUSR/NRSWA certs preferred; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Undertake planned or reactive work on mains and connections.
• Ensure productivity within timescales and to targets.
• Update all relevant documentation on each job using a tablet.
• Be part of a rapid response team providing round-the-clock water restoration.

We're looking for an Operative to join our South West Water team based in Bournemouth.

Location: Bournemouth
Hours: 45 hours per week covering shifts across Monday to Sunday. There will also be a requirement to join an On Call rota.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As an Operative, you'll be working within the South West Water team, supporting them in working on schemes including mains repairs, new connections, and metering, all within a team that values comradery and collaboration. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety, creating a secure and protected work environment which is always the highest priority at Kier.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Operative, you'll be working within the South West Water team, supporting them in working on schemes including mains repairs, new connections, and metering. Your day to day will include:

• Undertaking planned or reactive work as directed from water services to large diameter mains
• Ensuring levels of productivity working within timescales and to targets
• Updating all relevant documentation on each job using a tablet
• Being part of a rapid response team that works around the clock to deliver and restore clean water
• Promoting wellbeing and ensuring an inclusive workplace where diversity is actively encouraged

What are we looking for?

This role of Operative is great for you if you have:

• Previous experience in highways or utilities.
• Hold a Full driving licence
• A CSCS card, EUSR Water Hygiene, or NRSWA certification (however training can be provided)
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver quality results
