Job summary

Tarmac Trading Limited in Leeds is hiring an Operative to join our industrial site. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will help maintain plant safety, availability, production output and quality, and support daily operations on the factory floor.

You will meet daily targets, move and load products, ensure accurate loading and timely vehicle turnaround, and contribute to continuous improvement and good housekeeping. Training will be provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial, factory, or similar environments.
• Forklift Truck operation experience or training.
• Good communication and a desire to develop operative and supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Meeting daily production target requirements.
• Reporting of data for quality purposes.
• Moving, loading and unloading product from the plant and vehicles.
• Meeting customer service requirements in terms of accurate loading and timely vehicle turnaround.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to our Plant Manager, the successful Operative will be responsible for actively participating and taking ownership of activities to ensure plant safety, plant availability, production output and quality.

You will also take responsibility for:

• Meeting daily production target requirements
• Reporting of data for quality purposes
• Moving, loading and unloading product from the plant and vehicles
• Meeting customer service requirements in terms of accurate loading and timely vehicle turnaround
• Continuous Improvement of performance standards
• Continuous improvement towards plant and production methods
• Good housekeeping

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate previous experience working within an Industrial, Factory or similar environment. Ideally we are looking for experience with the following Forklift Truck Operative, Multi-Skilled Operative or Labourer. Although training will be giving as well to the right person, as well as possess good communication skills and have a real desire in developing both operative and supervisory skills.
