Air Liquide Biogas Solutions, employing over 200 people, is dedicated to producing biomethane, with a circular economy approach, for industry and transportation. Leveraging core Air Liquide technologies, the Group has developed competencies throughout the whole biomethane value chain, starting with biogas production from waste, to its purification into biomethane, liquefaction, storage, transportation to distribution. As part of the circular economy approach, Air Liquide also valorizes digestate as fertiliser and produces biogenic CO2.

Biogas Solutions is a key asset to contribute to Air Liquide’s strategic plan, serving the decarbonization needs of its customers as well as its own climate objectives.

With roughly 70 employees, Air Liquide Biogas Solutions UK operates in England and Scotland with the main office in Birmingham.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Operations Engineer to join our UK Biogas Team on a permanent basis in the Fordoun area.

In your role, you will be responsible for the performance of field operation & maintenance duties for several assets, facilities, and plants within your area. Acting as a local, hands-on technical point of contact, you will support both gas suppliers and customers. While maintaining a strong focus on safety protocols and regulatory compliance, you will, with guidance from qualified personnel, ensure that installations are kept in optimal working order.

How you will make an impact:

• Apply regulatory safety rules to all responsible sites
• Alert and raise awareness when witnessing risky situations
• Conduct root cause analysis of safety incidents
• Participate in and contribute to RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement)
• Manage and coordinate site emergency procedures, including waste paperwork and COSHH documentation
• Write and review Standard Operating Procedures for works and create Risk Assessments & Method Statements
• Maintain intervention history and write detailed reports
• Update 'As built' documentation according to MOCs
• Perform routine checks and maintenance to ensure good operational conditions
• Assist in managing procurement and stock of parts

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• Experience in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
• UK Driving license
• Knowledge of gas types (CNG, Biogas)
• Knowledge of instrumentation and gas analysis
• Understanding of P&FD, P&ID, electrical diagrams, functional analysis
• Experience in writing technical reports and procedures
• Knowledge of safety and risk assessments
• Right to work in the UK
