Superdrug is seeking an Operations Team Leader for the Dunstable DC. You will support Shift Managers in daily site operations, lead a team within a designated area, and ensure efficient, safe workflows across a fast-paced distribution environment.

Join a large health and beauty retailer and play a key role in delivering stock to hundreds of stores. The role requires strong people leadership, planning ability, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in a distribution/warehouse environment.
• Strong planning and project management abilities.
• Proven leadership with a track record of delivering KPIs in logistics.
• Excellent IT and analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own people management within your area, coordinating with the shift manager and People Team.
• Motivate, coach and develop the team to perform effectively and safely.
• Take accountability for KPIs within your area and report status to the Shift Manager.
• Continuously review and improve processes to maximise efficiency and safety.
• Deliver smooth shift handovers and communicate progress to management.
• Support ad hoc projects and deputise for the Shift Manager when required.

Hours of work: Monday to Sunday 5 out of 7

Total Hours Per Week: 40

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the successful Superdrug Supply Chain; working within one of our three busy Distribution centres as a Team Leader.

This vacancy is for the Southern Region Distribution centre; based in Dunstable.

The hours of will we be predominantly as stated above but flexibility will be required across all other shift patterns.

About The Role

A Team Leader is a member of Management who supports the Shift Managers with the Daily management/coordination of site operations; assisting with leading a team within a designated area of the Distribution Centre.

Our operation at SRDC provides stock to over 600 stores across the Superdrug & Savers Stores Network. As you can expect this is a fast paced role in a busy environment.

A passion for results will ensure that all specified standards are maintained; if not exceeded.

Working as “One Team” to ensure that operational efficiencies are identified and maximised; encouraging Growth & Innovation within the team, utilising appropriate resource and safe working practices; to help create a Supply Chain that makes our customer smile!

Key Roles And Responsibilities

• To take ownership of all People Management issues for colleagues within their area of responsibility, engaging with the shift manager and people team, ensuring fair and consistent approach to all company processes, policies and procedures
• To motivate, coach & develop a team of colleagues; to enable them to carry out their duties in the most effective & efficient way, utilising all appropriate training and development tools.
• Full accountability and responsibility for nominated KPI’s, pertaining to the area within which you manage, communicating KPI status on a regular basis with the shift manager.
• To continuously review and develop specified processes within your area of responsibility, maximising efficiencies, communicating the Management team for implementation.
• Working collaboratively with the Health & Safety team to build and update all safe systems of work and risk assessments, for your area of responsibility; ensuring that all changes/updates are effectively communicated.
• To deliver an effective and seamless shift handover to the oncoming team
• To engage the Shift Manager in timely updates on daily progress within your area of responsibility, identifying and resolving areas of concern
• Role model a site culture that demonstrates our company values
• Be an ambassador for driving good health & safety practices across all team.
• Assisting shift manager and fellow colleagues with ad hoc projects and reports when required. Deputise as Shift Manager when required.
• Conduct team briefings where required.
